The Income Tax Department on September 06, 2025 has made available two utilities on the e-filing portal to facilitate taxpayers in filing their returns.
- Excel Utilities for Updated Returns (ITR-5, ITR-6, and ITR-7): In accordance with the Finance Act, 2025, Excel Utilities for filing updated returns in ITR-5, ITR-6, and ITR-7 for the Assessment Years 2021-22 and 2022-23 have been released. These utilities enable filing of updated returns as per the provisions of the Act.
- Offline Utility for ITR-5 (AY 2025-26): The Offline Utility for ITR-5 for the Assessment Year 2025-26 is now available for filing. Taxpayers can access the utility through the e-filing portal.
The Department remains committed to providing a seamless and user-friendly e-filing experience to taxpayers by continuously enhancing the e-filing ecosystem.
