Bail plea of 2 junked in Rs 350-cr GST fraud case

A local court has dismissed the bail applications of two scrap brokers of Punjab, Parvesh Joshi and Narinder Kumar Joshi, who were arrested for an alleged Rs 350-crore GST fraud.

A complaint was filed by the Directorate General of Goods and Services Tax (Intelligence) under Section 132 of the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017.

According to the complaint, during the search of the offices of the accused in Mandi Gobindgarh, the GST Directorate found notebooks and diaries.

It was observed that Parvesh, nephew of Narinder Joshi, and others were allegedly involved in the operation of 63 fake/bogus firms and were providing invoices without supplying goods.
