The Government of Andhra Pradesh has achieved a major fiscal milestone in July 2025 by recording highest-ever GST collections for the month since implementation of the Goods and Services Tax regime in 2017.
Chief Commissioner of State Tax Babu A, in a press release on Friday, said the State’s gross GST collections reached ₹3,803 crore, while net collections stood at ₹2,930 crore — marking a 12.12% year-on-year increase.
This surge reflected strong economic activity, enhanced compliance, and improved enforcement mechanisms, he said. The SGST collections also showed robust growth at ₹1,226 crore, a 14.47% rise, signalling improved consumption patterns.
For the fourth consecutive month (April to July), Andhra Pradesh reported record-breaking gross and net GST revenues, with July alone witnessing 14% month-on-month growth, the highest among southern States and third overall nationwide.
Significantly, an IGST settlement of ₹1,704 crore — up 10.69% from July 2024 — boosted the State’s revenue. A focused compliance drive, strategic deployment of high-performing officers, targeted audits, and robust analytics played key roles in reversing earlier fiscal slumps, he added.
The government also successfully recovered ₹357 crore via IGST credit reversals, improved professional tax collections by 51%, and launched aggressive enforcement against defaulters.
“These achievements underscore the effectiveness of Andhra Pradesh’s policy-driven approach and signal a stabilised fiscal trajectory for the State moving forward,” he added.
