Andhra Pradesh government will soon set up a GST data lake to combine all departmental information in one place which will also be shared with Central GST officials for optimising collection.
This was decided in a meeting with Central GST officials and the State GST team presided over by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in Amaravati on Friday. The idea behind the initiative is to increase efficiency and prevent tax evasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said a proper coordination between Central and State GST officials is necessary for better GST realisation.
“If the State receives its rightful share of resources, there will be no need to approach the Centre for every small issue.’‘ He directed officials to work with organisations like CII to raise awareness and prevent tax evasion.
