The 57th GST Council meeting has concluded at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi after deliberations on a wide-ranging package of GST 2.0 reforms. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman chaired the meeting, which was attended by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Karnataka Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, and Finance Ministers of States and Union Territories.
The meeting was closely watched for proposals on GST compliance, faster refunds, input tax credit, GST registration, enforcement and prosecution rules. The Finance Minister is expected to brief the media shortly on the key decisions and recommendations of the Council.
